Thame Outer Circuit walking route – new and improved!

In March 2021, the Thame Outer Circuit walking route was unveiled, providing an approximately 20 mile circular walk in the countryside around and linked back to Thame. The route was created by members of the Thame & Wheatley Ramblers to encourage walking in the countryside as one of the key aims of the Thame Green Living Plan.

Almost one year on, the Thame & Wheatley Ramblers have been working on some improvements to the route. Specifically:

  • Some stiles at the Attington Stud near Tetsworth have been repaired, so the footpaths linking the A40 and Thame Park Road are now open
  • The Chiltern Society have replaced two very difficult stiles near Emmington, with kissing gates making this section a whole lot easier!

The mobile friendly version of the route on Thame Town Council’s website has been updated, and the pdf and printed versions will be corrected shortly.

Whether you’ve already done the route or always intended to do it but haven’t quite got round to it yet, now is a great time to put on those walking boots and give it a go. Happy walking!
