Thame Solar Streets returns for 2021

After the success of the scheme in 2020, Thame Solar Streets is back for a second round.

Solar Streets is a community discount scheme to buy solar PV panels and have them installed on your roof, generating free energy for your home from sunlight – even on a cloudy day.

Last year seven installations took place in Thame through the Solar Streets scheme and more are in the pipeline. So far, as well as energy cost savings for the households’ residents, these installations have saved 5 tonnes of carbon dioxide by producing their own renewable energy. One of the Thame residents who took part in the scheme is Anthony Day – whilst we all know what solar panels look like from the outside, in this film below Anthony demystifies how the panels connect up to your electricity system inside the house.
